First, CoolSculpting is not for losing weight.

You should meet your surgeon and he or she can evaluate your current condition, and then determine whether you’re a good candidate for CoolSculpting treatment. Generally speaking, anyone who wants to have a fit body contour but is not currently keen on invasive surgeries may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting®.

Typically, it is an appropriate treatment for those who:

  • Are in good physical health
  • Have a relatively good shape but still have some stubborn fat in one or two areas
  • Have been unable to get rid of excess fat through diet and exercise
  • Are at or near your target weight, within 30 pounds of your ideal weight
  • Are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Do not have any chronic auto-immune disorders or medical conditions
  • Have a realistic expectation of cosmetic treatment

You should avoid CoolSculpting or won’t achieve the ideal effect if you have:

  • Loose skin
  • Poor skin tone
  • Obesity
  • Cold-related conditions (cryoglobulinemia, cold urticaria, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria)

If you can’t handle cold well, are under medications, or are pregnant, you are also not a good candidate for CoolSculpting.
